There is a lot going on in the Seattle Food world these days. Here are a few tidbits.

Flying Fish, previously situated in Belltown, is opening the doors at its new South Lake Union location at Westlake and Thomas next Friday the 28th! Flying Fish will now be open for lunch to serve the workers of SLU. There is also word that the owner will open a takeout shop called "On the Fly" which will serve lunch and dinner to-go as well as offer cooking courses and wine tastings.

Sitka and Spruce, formally on Eastlake, has moved to its new location in Capitol Hill on Melrose and will open this weekend for friends and family to flush out the kinks before their public opening next Wednesday the 26th. And opening up in the same building and by the same owners in June will be Bar Ferdinand. The Bar will serve wine, cocktails and small plates and even have a retail wine section.

Tom Douglas is at it again! His rotisserie takeout and seafood bar located next door to Etta's in the Market is planning its debut for sometime this summer and has officially been named Roto Fish.

The Walrus and the Carpenter, the new venture for Boat Street Cafes chef Renée Erickson, will be unveiled this July on Ballard Ave. This restaurant is an Oyster Bar that will serve high quality food and bevies in a comfortable space that feels like home. They will also feature brunch from 10 to 12 and have outdoor seating.

Ethan Stowell is opening a new restaurant to add to his already successful bunch including Tavolata, How to Cook a Wolf and Anchovies & Olives. This place will be called Staple & Fancy Mercantile and will open in Ballard in July. As a side note, his restaurant Union, in Downtown, will be closing its doors at the end of the month.
