Google Sets Up Shop in Kirkland

Google has officially opened the doors to its Kirkland Campus. Although Google has had employees in Kirkland since 2004, now that the number of employees in the Seattle-area has grown, they decided to consolidate and open a 3 building campus. As of now, they occupy 2 of the buildings but plan to expand into the 3rd building when the staff grows.

In typical Google fashion the complex has wonderful employee benefits including a gym, rock climbing wall, massage room, pool and foosball tables and a doctor office.

What drew Google to Kirkland? It reminded co-founder Larry Page of Palo Alto California, where the company began, but also is desirable because the Seattle area is a leader in the high-tech industry and UDUB cranks our a lot of qualified potential employees.

Kirkland and the surrounding areas will benefit from Google being in town in terms of tax income from Google and its well paid employees.
